Facilities

 Corcoran Hall - 725 21st St.

The home of the Chemistry and Physics department houses the Wagner Lab , the Cahill Lab , and NMR studies of  biological and materials samples.  Also home to the UV-VIS , FT-IR, and Fluorospectrometer.

Samson Hall - 2036 H St.

Samson Hall houses the Forensic science department as well as several offices for the Chemistry and Physics department.

Bell Hall - 2029 G St.

The home of the Earth Sciences and Environmental studies as well as the Geology department.  This building also houses the XRD instrument that is the work horse for several groups within the IMS as well as the STM-AFM.

Thompkins Hall - 725 23rd St.

Part of the Engineering department, which also houses several IMS instruments:  the Thin films Lab- XPS-Auger system, SEM Lab, the Photo developing room, CMP lab.  The main Machine shop is also in this building.

Academic Center - 801 22nd St.

This building is an amalgamation of Smith Hall, Philips Hall, and Rome Hall.  It houses several research disciplines, among which are the Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering department.

 

GWU- Virginia Campus - 20101 Academic Way, Ashburn VA 20147

IMR- Institute of Magnetics Research is actually located on the Virginia Campus and houses  VSM, electrobalance, and MOKE measurement instrumentation (linear and nonlinear), among other things.
