The Institute for Middle East Studies (IMES) supports student research through its IMES Research Fellows Program. Each academic year, IMES appoints two student Research Fellows from among eligible applicants.
IMES Research Fellows receive a research assistantship for approximately 10 hours per week over 20 weeks. Those selected as fellows will be assisted in locating an appropriate IMES faculty member with interests similar to their own. Research Fellows also receive a shared workspace at the IMES offices, located at the Elliott School of International Affairs.
Undergraduate Middle Eastern Studies majors in their junior or senior year and graduate students in the Middle East Studies M.A. program or completing doctoral work related to the Middle East are eligible to apply.
