September message from Nation's Capital Chapter president

All,

I hope everyone has had a good summer and is looking forward to fall. The board of directors has been busy over the summer arranging chapter activities. On Wednesday Sept. 19, our first technical dinner speaker of the chapter year will be Alfred King who will speak on the new FASB fair value rules. Alfred is a member of our chapter and is Vice Chairman and Senior Technical Director for the National Valuation and Consulting Practice of Marshall & Stevens, Incorporated. Alfred has spoken to our chapter before and his speeches were well received. We will be pleased to see you in attendance.

This year the chapter is celebrating its 75th anniversary. To that end, the chapter will take a cruise down the Potomac on Sunday October 14. If you are interested please look for future messages on this event.

We are still looking for an editor for the chapter newsletter. The newsletter has been on hiatus while our search continues. The Nation's Capital Chapter is one of the few chapters to have a newsletter and unfortunately, unless someone steps forward to replace Pat Martin as the newsletter editor we will not be able to continue with it. Anyone willing to fulfill the role this year should contact one of the board members.

With your assistance we can make this a great year! Please consider attending one of the events that are being arranged this year.

Best wishes,
Mark
