in Tourism Destination Management
How You Will Benefit

In the past, participants have come from all over the U.S. and the world,
including Argentina, Canada, Egypt, India, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia,
Mauritius, Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal, Portugal, Peru, South Korea, Thailand,
and Venezuela.
The Summer 1996 Courses
This summer we offer four one-week courses (held back-to-back) on the campus
of The George Washington University in Washington, DC. They are:
Students have the opportunity to take just one or two coursesto earn semester hours of credits or stay for the entire four course program to earn a certificate and twelve semester hour of credits. This program may be taken on a non-credit basis. For non-credit base information, contact Susan Gallagher (703) 578-8845.
The emphasis of the Summer 1996 program is tourism destination planning, marketing, and management, with a focus on ecotourism and cultural heritage tourism-issues that are extremely relevant to anyone responsible for the design and management of tourism that is both kind to the local environment and benefits the local economy.
The Certificate in Tourism Destination Management
Students who successfully complete all four courses this summer will receive a Certificate in Tourism Destination Management and earn 12 semester hour credits. This certificate will be issued by the International Institute of Tourism Studies and signed by the Dean of The George Washington University School of Business and Public Management.
