The George Washington University Institute for Crisis, Disaster and Risk Management (ICDRM) is proud to announce the third Homeland Security, Emergency and Risk Management Forum of the 2006 - 2007 academic year on Wednesday, November 29, 2006.
Presentation Description:
A discussion of the turnaround strategy and results in the aftermath of 9/11 of how Massport/Logan went from scapegoat to the center of excellence for airport security.
Brief Bio:
Craig P. Coy served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Massachusetts Port Authority beginning in April 2002 during the aftermath of 9/11. He instituted sweeping management and operational changes to Logan International Airport, the Port of Boston, the Tobin Bridge, Bedford Airport at Hanscom Field and the development of Massport-owned property and Worcester Regional Airport. At Massport, Mr. Coy led the implementation of Logan's nationally-recognized 100% bag screening program, the nation's first permanent system approved for a major U.S. international airport. Mr. Coy has held executive management roles in the public and private sector, nationally and internationally, over the past 29 years. His wide-ranging experience includes executive responsibilities in the United States Coast Guard, the White House as a White House fellow and as Deputy Director for Counter Terrorism at the National Security Council., and as a business leader. Craig Coy is a graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (BS) and Harvard Business School (MBA).
