Guidelines for Submissions

The International Affairs Review (IAR) is accepting submissions. Issue deadlines vary, but usually fall in early September and early February.

Articles

To be considered for publication, articles must:

* Be written by current graduate students, or by those who have recently completed graduate programs with coursework relevant to international affairs.
* Make a unique contribution to an international affairs-related policy discussion
* Take a clearly-articulated position on the treated issue and conclude with the formulation of plausible policy recommendations.
* Be approximately 20 double-spaced pages in length and properly documented according to Chicago Manual of Style, 15th edition guidelines.
* Include a one-paragraph abstract, citations in endnote format, a short biographical statement about the author and the author's full contact information.

Book Reviews

To be considered for publication, book reviews must:

* Evaluate a recent or forthcoming book relevant to international affairs. A preference is given to books written by authors in the Washington, D.C. area.
* Briefly examine the key arguments of the author, contextualized within the discipline.
* Be no more than 500 words in length.
* Be written by current graduate students, faculty and/or practitioners.
