General Provisions
The GW Supervisory Guide and the policies, information and guidelines
in it, do not constitute or reflect terms of a contract between
the University and any employee. The University reserves the right
to withdraw, amend, modify, or add to these materials, in whole
or in part, at any time as well as the right not to apply them
in a particular case.
For non-faculty employees and employees not represented by a
collective bargaining representative, GW is an at-will employer.
This means that employment with GW is voluntarily entered into,
and the employee is free to resign at any time, with or without
notice or cause. Similarly, GW may terminate the employment relationship
for any reason with or without notice or cause at any time, subject
to applicable federal, state or District of Columbia law. Nothing
in this Guide or in any oral or written statement shall limit
the right to terminat employment at-will. No supervisor or employee
of GW, other than a Vice President, shall have any authority to
enter into an employment agreement - express or implied - with
any employee providing for employment other than at-will.
