When to Ask HR

Supervisors are expected to be familiar with the contents of the Supervisory Guide. In addition, more specific GW policy and procedures and federal, state, city, or other regulations may apply to a given situation. Every effort has been made to explain and/or provide links to this material. If supervisors have questions about how to apply guidance, policy or regulations,
they should consult with either their supervisors or the appropriate Human Resource department.

The University expects each decision made by supervisors to be consistent with the information in this guide and with any related policies or information provided in the Employee Handbook. Decisions in conflict are subject to reversal.
