Question: How do I find out the status of my credit?

Answer:Call us at 202/994-5369 regarding how to obtain a free credit report.

Question: Should I be pre-approved for a mortgage before I start looking for a property?

Answer: Yes, being pre-approved may give you more leverage in purchasing a home much more quickly when you find the house you want.  It also gives you more room to negotiate a better price for the property with the seller.

Question: Should I get a home inspection on the property I want to purchase?

Answer: Yes.  Home inspections are very important.  The cost of an inspection may range from $200 to $300 and it is worth it.  The inspector will be able to assess the property's condition from electrical to plumbing to structural and so on.  It may save you thousands of dollars in the years to come if you are aware beforehand of any problems with the property.  It may give you room to negotiate a better price on the property or ask the seller to complete repairs before you sign the contract.
