The Center takes the initial part of its name from the key element "leadership" of the mission of the Department of Educational Leadership. The second part of the title "transformation" comes from the notion of what leaders do to influence the organizations in which they work; that is, they transform organizations into more productive entities. The Center will build on these concepts of leadership and transformation by providing research and support for leaders who are involved in the transformation of their organizations.
