Tow Notice and Parking Restrictions Update
Tow Notice and Parking Restrictions Update
The scheduled “no street parking” restrictions will be strictly and rapidly enforced and are subject to change without notice.
Today, Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, without warning, the District began towing some cars parked on GW’s Foggy Bottom Campus on both lettered and numbered streets – from 19th to 23rd and E, H, and I streets. The University promptly inquired about the towing for streets other than 23rd Street (a planned road closure for today’s concert at the Lincoln Memorial).
When GW expressed concerns, District officials responded quickly and stopped towing cars on streets other than 23rd.
Twenty-three (23) cars have been towed to the 3100 and 3200 blocks of Water Street in Georgetown near the Whitehurst Freeway. The City Administrator’s Office has indicated that the owners of the towed cars will be able to pick up their vehicles at that site without paying the fees associated with towing and impoundment.
For questions about being towed from the Foggy Bottom area, please call 311 and press 2.
