A Message from President Steven Knapp on H1N1
To the George Washington University Community:
As we prepare to welcome students back to campus and look forward to the beginning of the academic year, we are also closely monitoring reports of continued cases of H1N1 influenza across the country and around the world. Public health officials anticipate a resurgence of H1N1 this fall, and the University is actively preparing for this situation.
I have re-convened the campus-wide task force, including members of our medical and public health faculty, to coordinate the University's efforts. As it did last spring, the task force will monitor the evolving guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the DC Department of Health. We will post up-to-date information, including prevention recommendations, on the University's Web site (http://www.campusadvisories.gwu.edu). I urge all students, faculty, and staff to check this Web site regularly.
We are all committed to keeping the University healthy and informed. We will issue additional advisories in the event of any new flu-related developments affecting the University community.
Sincerely,
Steven Knapp President
