What is GW Alert?

GW Alert is a simple computer application that enables you to receive immediate emergency notifications to your desktop. When active during emergency situations, a crawler will run across the bottom of computer screens to inform users of important information. Using an internet connnection, GW ALERT provides emergency notification to GW students, faculty, staff, and parents, in a secure and expedient manner.

Why should I download it?

To receive immediate notification if an incident occurs on campus
To have a convenient, desktop portal to important campus web pages like Campus Advisories, UPD, and the GW News Center
To gain instant access to current or forecasted local and national weather
It's quick to download and easy to use

How does it work?

The application sits as a tray icon that you can easily maximize or minimize. If an incident alert is issued, the application appears as a popup and is accompanied by a short alert tone. A red crawler moves across the desktop providing you with emergency notification and instructions.
