Severe Weather Reminders
Posted on Jun 1, 2012, 2:22 PM
Since weather patterns are ever-changing and often difficult to predict, a real-time weather "widget" has been added to the Campus Advisories home page. When you visit Campus Advisories, weather for the Foggy Bottom Campus and Virginia Science and Technology Campus zip codes are displayed in the small boxes on the right-hand side of the screen. If there is a weather alert, the link "Severe Weather Alert" will appear in red within the box. Click on the link to find out more specific details about the weather alert.
Monitor local media for the most up-to-date information at www.WTOP.com and www.NBCWashington.com.
Key words:
Watch - A watch is issued when the risk of hazardous weather has increased significantly, but its occurrence, location, and/or timing is still uncertain.
Warning - A warning is issued when hazardous weather is occurring, is imminent, or has a very high probability of occurring. A warning is used for conditions posing a threat to life or property.
READY GW: MAKE A PLAN. BUILD A KIT. STAY INFORMED.
