IPDI, CAMPAIGNS & ELECTIONS TO JOINTLY PRODUCE 16TH ANNUAL POLITICS ONLINE CONFERENCE

Washington - The Institute for Politics Democracy & the Internet (IPDI), part of the Graduate School of Political Management at the George Washington University, today announced that the upcoming 16th Annual Politics Online Conference would be produced in partnership with Campaigns & Elections' Politics magazine.

IPDI Director, Julie Barko Germany, said, "We're pleased to partner with such a trusted source for news and analysis on electoral politics for our 2009 conference. Politics Magazine has an international reputation, and we think that combining our efforts will engage an even larger population in discussions about how technology can lead to innovations on the campaign trail, the elected office, and beyond."

The Politics Online Conference is the premiere conference for online political professionals in America, regularly attracting over 500 attendees from across the globe. The next conference, in April 2009, will be jointly produced with Campaigns & Elections' Politics magazine. This will be the first joint venture between IPDI and Campaigns & Elections.

The 2009 Politics Online will be a multi-partisan meeting of the minds and idea exchange. Politicos, techies, organizers, and advocates will metabolize what happened this election and learn from each other, applying what was so successful in their campaigns to the commercial, non-profit, and government spaces. The kinds of multi-partisan discussions that will occur at the 2009 Politics Online Conference will stimulate growth and innovation in electoral politics and advocacy on both sides of the aisle.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with IPDI and leverage twenty-five years of experience in organizing conferences for political professionals to help produce the best and biggest Politics Online Conference ever," said Campaigns & Elections' Politics magazine publisher Jordan Lieberman.

Founded in 1980 by Stanley Foster Reed, Campaigns & Elections' Politics magazine (www.politicsmagazine.com) covers the strategies, techniques and personalities of modern politics. It is read by thousands of federal, state and local elected officials, candidates for public office, party activists, issue campaigners, political consultants, campaign staffs, lobbyists, PAC directors, university professors, news reporters and numerous behind-the-scenes opinion makers.
