Program Requirements


PACs and Political Management Graduate Certificate

Students are required to have an appropriate bachelor's degree from a recognized institution and evidence of capacity for productive work in the

field of study, as indicated by undergraduate grades. The GRE is not required.

Required Courses (3 credit hours)

  • PMGT 268 PACs and Congress

Elective Courses (12 credit hours)

Political Management Courses (Take two of the following)

  • PMGT 220 Fundraising
  • PMGT 221 Fundraising for Organizations
  • PMGT 231 Lobbying
  • PMGT 233 Grassroots Politics
  • PMGT 236 Corporate Public Affairs
  • PMGT 228 Law and Political Process

Legislative Affairs Courses (Take two of the following)

  • PSC 218 Legislative Politics
  • PSC 219 American Political Parties and Elections
  • PSC 221 Interest-Group Politics
  • PSC 224 Domestic Policy Analysis-Selected Topics

Graduate Certificate students may apply courses toward the Master's degrees in Legislative Affairs or Political Management.
