Connie Veillette

Associate Professorial Lecturer - Congress and Foreign Policy (PSC 250)

Connie Veillette (Ph.D., George Washington University) currently serves as a Senior Professional Staff Member for Senator Lugar (R-IN) on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Previously, she was a Specialist in Foreign Assistance at the Congressional Research Service, where she researched and advised Congress on foreign aid issues and policy options. She began her public service working for a Member of the House Appropriations Committee in a variety of capacities, the last 10 years as Chief of Staff. She earned a B.A. in International Relations from Ohio University, an M.A. in Latin American Studies and a Ph.D. in Political Science, both from George Washington University. Her dissertation studied the effects of authoritarian legacies on legislative politics in Latin America. In 1999, the Federal Republic of Germany awarded her the Verdienstkreuz (Federal Cross of Merit).
