Shawn Reese

Homeland Security Expert, Congressional Research Service
Shawn Reese (M.A., St. Mary’s University of San Antonio) is an expert on homeland security policy at the Congressional Research Service (CRS). He has written numerous reports for Congress on federal, state, and local homeland security policy issues. He has testified before the House Government Reform Committee on the Homeland Security Advisory System, and the House Homeland Security Committee on federal counter-terrorism training programs. Prior to coming to CRS, he was a US Army officer for ten years, and his service included two peacekeeping tours in the former Yugoslavia. While in the military, he wrote two articles for the Field Artillery Journal on 21st Century field artillery operations. At the GSPM, Shawn teaches a course on Congress and Homeland Security Policy.
