Lawrence Purpuro

Professorial Lecturer - Communications Strategy (PMGT 204)

Lawrence Purpuro is a 25-year veteran of political campaigns, and has worked for last decade as a consultant in the field cyber advocacy.

Mr. Purpuro's professional career has included serving in public affairs positions as spokesman, communications director, press secretary, and speechwriter and, most notably, as the youngest chief of staff in US House of Representatives, a chief of staff to U.S. Senator and as the lead strategist for national political party.

In 2001, Purpuro founded a web-consulting firm (Rightclick Strategies) to serve interest groups and associations with their online advocacy campaigns. His clients have included the largest member based association in America (AARP), the largest business groups (both US Chamber and NFIB) and over 125 Members of Congress.

Before founding Rightclick Strategies, US News & World Report described Purpuro as, "the guy who developed the Republican Party's 2000 Internet project that helped elect President Bush." For his trail blazing activities with the "e.GOP Project", Mr. Purpuro was named one of the "Best and Brightest" by Harvard University and Politics Online. His work in the field of web politics has garnered press coverage in The Industry Standard, Wired, Investor's Daily, Forbes, Washington Post, and Rolling Stone.

He serves as an adjunct professor at GWU's Graduate School of Political Management.

He is a graduate of Drew University and received his Juris Doctorate degree from Seton Hall University Law School.
