William Black

Senior Vice President & Senior Partner, Fleishman-Hillard-DC

William Black is co-chair of the Fleishman Hillard Global Public Affairs Practice.  He is a senior public affairs professional with more than 25 years experience in Washington, DC. He leads a public affairs division providing communications support for organizations involved in healthcare, transportation, manufacturing, energy, financial services and education.

Before Fleishman-Hillard, he served as Director of Political Action at the American Medical Association where he was responsible for development and membership recruitment for the AMA’s $5 million political action committee. In addition, Mr. Black created one of the nation’s most powerful grassroots armies, the 60,000 member Physicians Grassroots Network.  Prior to the AMA, Mr. Black spent 14 years working for Members of the House of Representatives in senior capacities, including as chief of staff to the current House Majority Leader,  Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD, as well as to to Reps. Jane Harman (D-CA) and Jim Olin (D-VA).  He also served as legislative assistant to Rep.
