Robert Beckel
Assistant Professorial Lecturer - Campaign Strategy (PMGT 247)
Senior Political Commentator, Fox News Network
Bob Beckel had his political baptism as a college volunteer for Bobby Kennedy in 1968. He is a veteran of over 100 political campaigns. In 1984, Beckel was the National Campaign Manager for Walter Mondale. He is credited with bringing the enduring slogan “Where’s the Beef” to the political campaign lexicon.
Bob became a television commentator in 1988 for ABC News. He was the Democratic political analyst for CBS This Morning, guest host for Larry King Live, Co-host of CNN’s Crossfire Sunday with Lynn Cheney, US political analyst for ITN of Britain. Currently Beckel is a senior on air political commentator for the Fox News Network.
Beckel has written hundreds of newspaper and magazine columns. Currently he writes a semi monthly column, Common Ground, with conservative commentator Cal Thomas for USA Today. Beckel and Thomas are co-authors of the book Common Ground to be published in September 2007 by Harper Collins.
Bob Beckel has taught Advanced Political Strategy at the GSPM for 10 years.
