IM Sports Footballas and non pigskin-ers alike: IM season is on! We have an Elliott School flag football and soccer team (aptly named "The Elliotts") and an upcoming volleyball team representing the international side of things on the court/field. Other sports (raquetball, softball, and the like) are still in the 'garnering interest' phase, so if you have an interest in playing, or know somebody that does, let us know! If you have already emailed about sports, your email was read--do not fret. It just takes time to organize pending interest. If there is interest in any other sport as well, please email Larissa Hotra. 1.) See all the sports offered for the fall 2008 season: http://gwired.gwu.edu/gwellness/intramuralsports 2.) For team sports, e-mail Larissa and let her know what sports you are interested in playing in and can commit to on a regular basis. 3.) If you have the time and desire to captain a specific Elliott School team, e-mail Larissa and let her know. Note: For non-team sports, click on the sport that you are interested in on the left-hand side of the website and follow instructions on how to sign up. IM Sports Registration Update: - We need more men for Men’s League A Indoor 6 on 6 Soccer - We could use more players for flag football - There is interest for a volleyball team, but we need more to field a team - If anyone would like to play on those teams and if anyone would like to captain those teams, please e-mail Larissa. We really need captains to lead those teams, which consists of communicating with the IM department when needed and sending out weekly email reminders about league games. D.C.
Professional Sports GSF and DC United: Oct 16th, DC United is Playing New England Revolution. If you are interested in attending the game with the rest of the Elliott grad students, in the section right behind Barra Brava, email Lari. We will have a pre-game tailgating/bbq-ing tent, and a block of seats together. If you are interested, please email Larissa at lhotra@gmail with your name and the number of seats you would like to buy. Tickets are $22, and there will be 5 free jerseys for 5 lucky Elliott students...perhaps the first ones to email Larissa?... How-To-Pay Payment is not done through Lari; it's done through our contact at United, Sean Hooper. People can either call him at 202.587.5443 or email him at shooper@dcunited.com with their payment information (# of seats they want, and how they'll pay for them - VISA, Mastercard, Discover or American Express). I apologize that there is not an easier way to do this, but this way everyone is guaranteed to be in the same section and will also be purchasing seats as cheap as they can. Just either mention Lari at GWU or the Elliott School, and he'll know which section to put them in.
