Our mission is to unite the student body, administration, and faculty alike to create a more environmentally friendly and green campus while simultaneously increasing awareness of environmental issues.

    RecycleMania!

    This 10-week competition is pitting colleges and organizations against each other to determine who can recycle the most material and have the least amount of trash, while raising awareness of campus recycling and waste-reduction efforts.

    Boat Tour of Anacostia

    With Earth Conservation Corps, April 19th, 1:30-4:00

    First 20 people to sign up will get a free boat tour of the current pollution issues in the Anacostia River.


    Local DC Environmental Panel

    April 19th, 4-5:15 pm

    The boat tour participants and any other interested members will at one of ECC's facilities to hear from several local environmental leaders on what we should focus on as a priority for DC's environmental agenda.


    Tree Planting with Casey Trees

    Interested in Greening the National Mall?

    A group of GW students are working to bring sustainability to America's most visited National Park!

    Volunteers will:


  • Map the National Mall's trash cans using handheld GIS devices
  • Analyze the National Mall's waste stream
  • Educate visitors about the importance of recycling
  • Develop recommendations for building a National Mall recycling program
