Events
Two events series provide opportunities for learning, discussion, and debate on cutting edge issues:
The Global Gender Forum (GGF) focuses on challenges and opportunities related to the status of contemporary women and girls around the world. Since its launch in Spring 2010, the GGF has hosted 10 events on topics such as women in war and peace, human trafficking, and women in Iraqi politics.
The Distinguished Women in International Affairs (DWIA) series brings renowned women leaders to the Elliott School to engage with students on international issues. Since its inception in 2006, the DWIA series has hosted twenty speakers, including Former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer, the State Department Director of Policy Planning Anne-Marie Slaughter, Ambassador-at-large for Women's Issues Melanne Verveer, and Nobel Laureate Shirin Ebadi.
