GEOG 3 Society and Environment (3 credits)
This introductory course will cover the geography of the relationship
between people and the environments they inhabit, through
the study of the historical context of society-nature relationships,
philosophical and economic approaches to the environment,
and
contemporary environmental issues such as resource use,
industrial production, and global environmental change.

GEOG 104 Introduction to Cartography and GIS (3 credits)
Cartographic techniques and map interpretation, compilation, and presentation;
introduction to simple computer mapping, with emphasis on thematic mapping.
