The Song of Orpheus.c. 1968. 23" x 32".

The Song of Orpheus is an allegory related to Wright's deep-bite etching of the same subject. In this version we see Mr. DeOro listening to the strains of Orpheus' singing, while a harpist and mandolin player accompany him. A shepherd listens at right. Allegory is very rare in Wright's paintings.
