A Man and his Dog. 1970. 6 3/8x4 3/8. Engraving.

The subject for this print is Albert DeOro, a retired hobo, who had claimed that he had been to, "the edge of everywhere." DeOro, a close friend of Wright's, professed a great love for animals. The artist promised to give the hobo a dog if he held out his hand and pretended to pet one. Out of this moment came the engraving. Signed and numbered by the artist in pencil. Edition of 75.

This photo from National Geographic served as the model for the dog.
