The Cock. 1965. 11.25x5.75. Deep-bite etching in color.

One of a series of images known as the "Dancing Fools," this print grew out of a collection of Paris drawings of the mime Andre Valdez, a student of Marcel Marceau. "The Cock" is based on an account of Robert Graves's The Greek Myths, where according to an ancient rite of spring, youths dressed up like roosters and crowed at the moon. Signed and numbered by the artist in pencil. Edition of 75.
