Giverny. 1985. 42x84.

The first of Wright's paintings relating to the beautiful home and gardens of Claude Monet. It is based on a series of photographs taken on the spot but also with a boat set up in Wright's studio with Jim Muell as the boatman. The image is extended into a view that is a convex curve. In the distance one can see the celebrated Japanese Bridge.
