The Southern pier of the eastern, principal face of the Arch of Triumph bears on its pedistal, in high relief, the Triumph of 1810, represented by Victory crowning Napoleon. Fame surmounts the whole and History records his deeds. Vanquished towns are at Napoleon's feet. It is the work of the sculptor Cortot.
