rank Wright has sustained a deep interest in French landscape for over four decades. He traveled extensively through France in the mid 50's always with sketchbook in hand. In the early 60's he lived in Montmartre, a few streets over from the church of Sacre-Coeur. From that vantage point he did many drawings of Paris which were the basis of a series of prints and paintings which he calls "Under Paris Skies." A visit to Paris in 1997 inspired him to continue the series but concentrating on the Seine. While he has done landscapes over a wide area of France, he has been most interested in Giverny, the home of Claude Monet. He has done six paintings of Giverny in the past decade, several of which are in public and private collectrions in the United States and Europe.
