there were four students in the intellectual mecca of the CMC who discovered that the variations and adaptations of "The Frog Prince" are based upon popular themes that have survived across the centuries and entered into our collective imagination. Such motifs have rendered the tale vulnerable to creative, yet sometimes manipulative, overanalysis by such renowned "scholars" as the infamous Ellis and esteemed, maligned Bettelheim, as well as we four weary students in quest of the Urmarchen of this story.
