Musäus

The Musäus version of the tale when analyzed in a similar way would have the exact same break down of actions except an additional move would be added for the account given by the Princess of how she was enchanted. This is told at the end of the story, but actually occured before the tale began. A break down of that fourth move would look something like this.

IV. This section only occurs once

-Sorcerer asks for Hildegard's hand in marriage

-King refuses because the Sorcerer is an evil man

-Sorcerer wages war on Kingdom

-Hildegard is sent away to live with relatives

-Sorcerer takes over Kingdom and kills King

-Hildegard is tricked and captured by Sorcerer

-Hildegard refuses marriages

-Hildegard and brothers are enchanted

-Sorcerer dies

-Reinald breaks enchantment
