ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
An applicant for this award must be a citizen of the U.S. who is
planning a career in government or public service and who is enrolled as
a full-time student in a master's degree program at the Columbian School
of Arts and Sciences, the Elliott School of International Affairs, the
Graduate School of Education and Human Development, the School of Business, or the School of Engineering and Applied Science at
The George Washington University.
Students will be required to submit applications for the Award describing the public service they intend to undertake. Such public service may include work for any private non-profit organization or any institution or agency of federal, state, or local government. The recipients must undertake this service without compensation for a minimum of 20 hours per week for at least 10 weeks. The public service must be in the U.S.
Eligible private organizations may include any that are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as legitimate non-profit organizations or institutions. Such organizations may include, but are not limited to, those providing educational, health, governmental, or cultural services, those engaged in advocacy, or those providing programs toward the alleviation of social ills or environmental problems.

Students will be required to submit to the Office of Fellowships by 25 April 2008:

Copy of college transcripts from each institution attended (official or unofficial)
Resume
Verification by entity of intent to place applicant, including description of work and certification that meets criteria stated for eligible organizations

AWARDSThese awards will be considered as other merit awards and, as such, could affect any need-based aid students may be offered for the academic year.
