after April 2005. (This restriction may be waived in the case of candidates
wishing to read business studies or an allied subject). "The program looks
for tomorrow's leaders: for high intelligence and academic attainment, for
social commitment and responsibility, for leadership potential and for
originality and flair." Competition is open to those with an undergraduate
degree from an accredited four year U.S. college or university with the
following credentials: a minimum GPA of 3.7 for the final three undergraduate
years and the ambition and ability to contribute substantially to knowledge in
an academic discipline.

Fellowship Competitions. Prospective Scholars must meet with the Center for Undergraduate Fellowships and Research to discuss the GW application
process. The GW internal deadline is 31 August 2007.
LENGTH OF AWARD
Two academic years (22 calendar months); may be extended in some cases for a
third year.
AMOUNT OF AWARD
The award includes university fees, cost of living expenses, annual book grant,
thesis grant, research and daily travel grants, fares to and from the United
States and, where applicable, a contribution towards the support of a dependent
