ROBERT BOSCH FOUNDATION
FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

 

PURPOSE
The Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program is a work/study opportunity that enables 20 young American professionals to acquire a high-level, in-depth understanding of political, economic, and cultural environment of Germany and the European Union. It targets persons who possess a graduate degree and/or two years of professional experience in one of the following fields: Business Administration, Economics, International Relations, Journalism, Law, and Public Policy.

AWARD
Two internships in Germany lasting a combined nine months – the first in federal or regional government institutions, and the second with private industry and mass media. A variety of seminars with top-level elected officials, as well as leading representatives from industry and academia, in Berlin, Munich, Strasbourg, and Brussels, including visits to Poland and the Czech Republic, supplement the internships.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Students should possess a graduate degree and/or two years of professional experience
• German fluency required at the start of the program, though not at time of application. Up to seven months of language training provided prior to departure may be provided by the Foundation
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens
• Ages 23-34 at time of application
• Demonstrated academic achievement and potential
• Professional achievement and leadership potential

PROCESS
Applicants are responsible for submitting the following:

• Completed application form (forms may be picked up in the Office of Graduate Student Assistantships and Fellowships, Rice Hall 602 or downloaded)
• Academic transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended
• Two recommendations from persons familiar with the applicant

DEADLINE
Application materials must be submitted directly to The Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program no later than
15 October 2008.
