Student JobsThe Career Center has a variety of programs and services to assist in the pursuit of work experience, both paid and unpaid. The Center provides resources, whether in person, online, in print or through listservs, which can help a student develop a career plan, form a strategy appropriate for an individual job search and enable connections with prospective employers. Career services for graduate students within the School of Business, the Elliott School of International Affairs and the Law School are available through their respective schools. All GW students are eligible to attend special programs and events put on by the main Career Center. Listings of full-time, part-time, internship, temporary and summer positions are avilable through GWork, the Center's online job listing system. GW's Cooperative Education program allows students to gain practical experience in their career fields while earning funds for graduate work. Students who obtain one of these competitive positions are able to blend theory with practice through professional, salaried work experiences integrated with their academic programs. The On-Campus Recruiting Program brings employers to campus to conduct preliminary interviews for students within a year of graduation. Career Center staff are avilable to assist with the planning and implementation of full- or part-time job searches. Meet with a career consultant or take advantage of the many services that help with resume-writing, interviewing skills and career decision-making. Drop-in consulting hours during the academic year are Monday-Thursday, 1:00-5:00 PM and Friday, 1:00-3:00 PM.
