
Emily Ross (pictured here with Mr. Marion Ramey from the Foundation), a master’s student in the Forensics Department, has been awarded the prestigious national J. Edgar Hoover Foundation “Scientific Scholarship”. Ms. Ross will be awarded $25,000 to continue her studies at the George Washington University. Ms. Ross has a BA in Chemistry from Kenyon College and is shaping her longstanding interest in chemical polymers into her master’s thesis. After graduating from the George Washington University, Ms. Ross hopes to work for the FBI as a forensic chemist.
PURPOSE
The J. Edgar Hoover Foundation was established in 1965 to promote scholarship and research in support of law enforcement and to maintain the legacy and standards of the long-time FBI director and GW graduate. The Foundation has provided scholarships to 1200 students nationwide and distributed over 3.5 million dollars in grants and scholarships to support deserving students interested in law enforcement.
AWARD
The award of $25,000 for tuition and living expenses will be paid directly to the
University.
