U.S. law school graduates entering the Master of Laws (LL.M.) program of The George Washington University Law School may apply for the following scholarships and fellowships:

  • Randolph C. Shaw Graduate Fellowship - for a student who assists the director of the Environmental Law LL.M. Program

  • The Honorable Geralnd J. Mossinghoff Fellowship for Graduate Research in Intellectual Property Law - awarded to either an LL.M. or S.J.D. candidate; preference will be given to a candidate who is specializing in the pharmaceutical field.

  • Faculty Research Fellowships - for LL.M. students who work with faculty on research and other projects

Foreign law school graduates entering any LL.M. program may apply for the following fellowships:

  • Thomas Buergenthal Scholarships - cover partial or full tuition. Awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need to non-U.S. law school graduates. The amount of the award is determined by the Graduate Programs Office, International Students Division.

  • Momsen, Leonardos Scholarship for Brazilian Law Graduates- provides tuition assistance to Brazilian law school graduates with a special interest in U.S. constitutional law or intellectual property law

    . The amount of the award is determined by the Graduate Programs Office, International Students Division.

J.D. candidates who are U.S. citizens are eligible to apply for the following fellowships. Separate applications are required.

  • Bryce Harlow Foundation Scholarship - for part-time students who plan a career in business/government relations.

  • Loughran Fellowship - for SB graduate students and GW Law students from the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area (DC, MD, or Northern VA) who have need and are currently enrolled in graduate school.
