Blackboard (Bb) Configuration

 

Although it was explained in the Orientation, some people apparently had difficulty configuring their Bb accounts so that their e-mail address would be available to others in their course/section. This is easy to fix.

Actually, a student's e-mail address is one item that can not be edited in our installation of Bb. The authentic GW password is there by default. If your e-mail address is not showing up on the list of class memebers (and we ask that you allow it to), the problem lies in how your Privacy Options are configured. Here's what you need to do:

1. Logon to your Blackboard account and select a course

2. Go to the main menu and choose "Other Tools"

3. Click on "Personal Information"

4. Click on "Set Privacy Options"

Once there, do these things:

1. Personal Information -- Check E-mail Address

2. User Directory Status -- Check List my information in the user directory

3. Submit -- Click the submit button

Your e-mail address should now show up in the list of students in your section.
