Request EMeRG Services

EMeRG's primary mission is to provide volunteer emergency medical services to the GW campus community. However, we also offer for-fee services to supplement our funding and offset operational costs. Besides our CPR and First Aid classes, we offer EMS standby services for events and assistance with Public Access Defibrillation programs. Descriptions of those services, as well as information on how to request them, can be found below.

Event Standby Services

EMeRG offers standby services for events, which means that we will provide EMTs dedicated to your event location. Should any emergency arise, those EMTs are guaranteed to be immediately available to provide assessment and on-scene treatment, and can help the patient decide whether transport to a hospital is necessary. Rapid assessment and appropriate treatment ensure that patrons of your event well protected in the unlikely event of a medical emergency. Departmental CPR/AED Training Services

As noted to the right, AEDs save lives. In the event of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), quick access to an AED is the single most effective way of treating the most common cause of SCA. What's more, there is virtually no liability associated with owning or operating an AED. The DC Code Tort Immunity statute reads as follows:

"Any person who in good faith and without compensation, uses an AED to provide emergency care or treatment shall be immune from civil liability for any personal injury resulting from the care and treatment, if the person acts as an ordinary, reasonably prudent person, without gross negligence or willful or wanton misconduct"

EMeRG offers CPR/AED training to University Departments, as well as to individuals. For more information about our classes, please see the information on our CPR page (link above). To request a class for your Department, please fill out this form.

AEDs Save Lives

An AED is the most effective way to treat the most common cause of Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest is one of the most common causes of death in the United States. It can happen anywhere, at any time, to anyone, and quick access to an AED can save your life if it happens to you. Our CPR classes can train you to use an AED.
