Academic Advising and Student Services:

The Office of Academic Advising and Student Services is a rich resource for students in the Elliott School of International Affairs. The advising staff works with undergraduate and graduate students to create an academic plan that combines the many appropriate opportunities afforded by The George Washington University and The Elliott School.

For Undergraduates:

While students are responsible for determining their schedule and meeting all degree requirements, Academic Advisors are here to guide undergraduate students through the entire undergraduate degree. An Academic Advisor can help you:

  • Choose your courses
  • Prepare a four year plan
  • Organize a study abroad experience
  • Plan an internship (for credit and zero credit)
  • Choose a secondary field of study
  • Create or choose a group concentration
  • Explore extracurricular opportunities
  • Check your progress towards graduation
  • Generally facilitate your successful completion of GW and the Elliott School's undergraduate program.

For Graduates:

While students are responsible for determining their schedule and meeting all degree requirements, Academic Advisors are here to guide graduate students through the entire graduate degree. An Academic Advisor can help you:

  • Choose your courses
  • Prepare your plan of study
  • Organize a study abroad experience
  • Check your progress towards graduation
