Alia brings more than 17 years of experience in the Middle East, working in the U.S. embassies in Baghdad, Damascus, and Riyadh. Born and educated in Baghdad, she has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. She arrived in Washington DC in 2006 and previously worked at GW's School of Medicine.
