Maggie New
Associate Director, Career Counseling and Advising, Graduate Student Career Development

Joining the Graduate Student Career Development team at the end of 2007, Maggie brings to the career center her background in teaching, career counseling and executive coaching. She is an Adjunct Professor at GWU and CEO of The Middleburg Group, LLC. Internationally, she has studied abroad in Stockholm, Sweden and lived/taught university students in Hong Kong. She claims alumni allegiance to many schools and a B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.A. from Stanford University, and an Ed.D. from University of California-Los Angeles.
At GSCD, Maggie will
- Meet individually with students and alumni to discuss career development issues, job search skills, career planning, and provide mock interviews.
- Interpret Assessments, such as the International Career Direction Assessment (ICDA) and other assessments as requested
- Write the ASK MAGGIE Q&A column for GSCD Newsletter
- Be available to students and alumni for walk-in appointments on Tuesday evenings with Maggie and facilitate the Job Search Strategy Group
- Present and facilitate numerous career related workshops on career related topics
