As an August 2006 addition to GSCD, Julia brings with her experience working in career counseling while earning her Master's in Higher Education Administration. Prior to entering the world of higher education, Julia worked as a human resources assistant for a company in the Boston area.

Julia assists students and alumni in the following ways:

  • Individual career coaching appointments with students and alumni to discuss internships, job search skills and other career related topics
  • Administration and interpretation of the International Career Direction Assessment (ICDA), a computerized assessment tool based on the notion that occupational preferences can lead to fulfilling careers only when they are backed by the personal qualities, skills and practical circumstances
  • Editor of the monthly GSCD newsletter; a communication tool sent out to all current students and alumni
  • Presentation and facilitation of workshops on timely topics
  • Administrator of the Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) program; a prestigious fellowship program for graduating students who wish to gain entry into the federal government
