Background:
Adina Friedman holds a PhD in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University. She received her MA in Middle East History from Tel Aviv University, Israel, her MS in Peace & Development Research from Goteborg University, Sweden, and her BSc in Biology from San Jose State University.

Adina has taught courses on different aspects of conflict analysis and resolution and on the Middle East at a number of universities, including The George Washington University, George Mason University, University for Peace in Costa Rica, Eastern Mennonite University, American University, and at the Middle East Institute. She has run skills courses and workshops at Dickinson College, Alaska Pacific, and at off-campus locations.

Adina's geographical expertise and main interests lie in the Middle East, and particularly in the Arab-Israeli and Israeli-Palestinian conflicts. She has lived, traveled, studied and worked extensively in the region and is proficient in Arabic and fluent in Hebrew. She has worked on projects pertaining to refugees, education/academics, culture, development, environment/health, and peace & coexistence.

In addition, Adina has participated in international projects and conferences dealing with conflict resolution, identity issues, and dialogue and coexistence in Moldova, Estonia, Northern Ireland, Switzerland, Spain, Norway and Sweden. She has published a number of articles, encyclopedia entries and book chapters on these subjects.
