Elliott School Graduation Reception
Wednesday, May 14
7:00 to 9:00 p.m. – 1957 E Street, NW, 6th and 7th Floors
Dean Michael E. Brown and the faculty and staff of the Elliott School of International Affairs cordially invite students who graduated in Fall 2007 or will graduate in Spring or Summer 2008 to a reception in their honor. The reception is free to graduating students; guests will be charged $20 at the door. Please RSVP.
Elliott School Celebration
Friday, May 16

Friday, May 16th, at 11:00 a.m., the Elliott School Celebration for Bachelors and Masters candidates will be held in the Smith Center, at 600 22nd Street, NW. You must report
to Funger Hall, 2201 G Street, NW, by 10:00 a.m., to line up for the procession. Cap and gown are required for this event, which will last about two hours.
During the Celebration, you will be photographed, and your name will be called when you cross the stage to shake hands with Dean Brown. Student achievement awards will be announced, and student contributions to the Elliott School will be acknowledged.
We hope to accommodate all graduates’ guests at the Charles E. Smith Athletic Center. However, please note that due to limited seating capacity, we are only able to offer five tickets per graduate. In the event that more than five people wish to attend, they will be able to view the ceremony via a live video stream to the Jack Morton Auditorium, our designated overflow site. If seats are available at the live event site, we will accommodate guests on a first-come, first-served basis to capacity. All other guests will be directed to the overflow site for viewing. The Jack Morton Auditorium is located on the first floor of the School of Media and Public Affairs building, at 805 21st Street, NW.
Tickets for the Elliott School Celebration will be distributed beginning May 1. Each graduate will receive five tickets for guests. Tickets for undergraduates will be distributed in the Office of Academic Advising and Student Services, 1957 E Street, Suite 302. Tickets for graduate students will be distributed in Graduate Student Career Development, 1957 E Street, Suite 603.
University Commencement
Sunday, May 18
9:30am – Commencement Processions begin
10:00am – University Commencement Ceremony begins
Sunday, May 18, 2007, the unified University Commencement will take place between 4th and 7th Streets on The National Mall. The processions will begin at 9:30 a.m.; the ceremony will start at 10:00 a.m.; the ceremony will conclude at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Graduating students will receive 6 tickets for the University-wide Commencement Ceremony. These tickets are included in the graduation packet that graduates should pick up at the Commencement Fair. Details are available at the GW Commencement website.
Monumental Celebration
The Monumental Celebration at Union Station will take place on Saturday evening, May 17, from 8:30pm – 11:30pm. This business-attire, family event will feature desserts and dancing at one of Washington, D.C.’s most historic and beautiful venues. Cap and Gown (Regalia)
Students are required to wear the appropriate Cap and Gown for both the Elliott School Celebration and the University Commencement. Regalia may be purchased online or during the Commencement Fair. Details are available at http://commencement.gwu.edu/checklist/CapandGownInformation/.
