Security Policy Studies

Tool Requirement (3 credits)

Students may choose between either a language or a statistical skills option to fulfill the tool requirement. If the language option is selected, the student must take a foreign language diagnostic exam prior to their first semester.

Statistics Option (3 credits)

This option may be fulfilled by demonstrating proficiency, by a grade of B or better, in a graduate-level statistics course. This requirement may be met by taking IAFF 212 (Quantitative Analysis for International Affairs Practitioners), Statistics 105, or Political Science 202. Some of these courses have prerequisites. With prior approval of the Program Director, other statistics courses may be used to satisfy this option.

Language Option (0 credits)

This option may be fulfilled by demonstrating oral and reading proficiency in a modern foreign language through an examination taken during the last 20 credit hours in residence.
