Curriculum

The MIPP program is extremely rigorous. Full-time students with strong English language skills may complete the program in nine months. Full-time students may also choose to finish the program in July, which decreases the workload in the fall semester. Students may also choose to enroll on a part-time basis.

The curriculum for the 27-credit-hour Master of International Policy and Practice program includes:

• Two core courses (6 credits), that will provide you with a fundamental understanding of international economics and politics, and a core seminar (3 credits), open exclusively to M.I.P.P. candidates, that engages participants in discussions with prominent guest speakers from international business, the policy community, the international media, and the nonprofit sector.
• Elective course work selected in consultation with the M.I.P.P. program director that allows you to concentrate on a wide range of subjects including international business, economics, politics, development, security, or science and technology policy. M.I.P.P. candidates may also choose to study the dynamics of a particular region, such as Latin America or Asia, or the international aspects of U.S. policy.
• An opportunity to take up to three skills courses designed to supplement substantive graduate course work with practical skills and knowledge that enhance performance in the workplace.
