Admissions
Prospective students interested in the joint degree program must apply to, and be accepted by, both schools separately. Applicants must meet all the admission requirements of both schools, including taking both LSAT and GRE examinations. Applicants must note their intention to pursue the joint degree program in both applications. Since application processes are separate, it is possible for a applicant to be offered admission to both schools; to be offered admission to one school but not the other; or to be denied admission to both schools. The applicant must be offered admission to both schools to be admitted into the joint degree program.
Students already enrolled in the J.D. program in the Law School or an Elliott School Master of Arts program may also apply for entry into the joint degree program. Students in this situation should notify the Admissions Office of their school of their intention to apply to the joint degree program, and submit a complete application for admission to the second school. Students who have already received their diplomas for one degree, or who expect to receive their diploma prior to their proposed entry into the joint degree program, may not apply to the joint degree program. For more specific details on admission requirements, applicants should refer to admissions information provided by each school.
